Drury Lane Edition. Limited to 385 numbered copies on Holland handmade paper, this being number 108. Sixteen large octavo volumes (9 1/4 x 6 1/4 inches; 235 x 158 mm). Illustrated with reproductions of the original designs by Rooker, Corbould (1793), Rowlandson (1798), Hoppner, Borel (1788), Gravelot, Moreau, Downman (1789), Cruikshank, “Phiz,” E.E. Carlson, and E.J. Read, and of contemporary drawings and portraits. Frontispieces in two states, one hand-colored and signed by the colorist. Descriptive tissue guards. Added engraved series titles.

Bound by Croscup & Sterling Co. in contemporary three-quarter emerald green crushed levant morocco gilt over marbled boards. Spines in three compartments with two raised bands, one compartment decoratively tooled in gilt with red morocco floral onlays, the remaining two compartments lettered in gilt. Top edge gilt, others uncut. Marbled endpapers. Previous owner's bookplate on front pastedown of each volume. A few spines lightly sunned, but overall a very good and attractive set.
