Charles Dickens died on June 9, 1870 after suffering from a stroke the day before, in which he was working on one of his books, 'Edwin Drood'. This book was never finished and as a result, left many of his avid readers wondering what he had in mind for the ending of his last book. Since his death many writers have created different versions of the ending to Dickens's book.
