Publisher's quarter black cloth over black paper boards. Spine lettered in gilt. A pin-sized hole in cloth of the outer hinge. A very light stain on front free endpaper, not affecting King's signature. Previous owner's inscription on front and back pastedown. In publisher's non-price clipped dust jacket. Jacket with some rubbing along edges and at the top of front panel. Top of jacket spine with some very minor tiny closed tears. Overall a very good jacket and an about fine book.

Along with the book is a 5 x 4 inch black and white photograph of Martin Luther King, Jr. and a booklet entitled The SCLC [Southern Christian Leadership Conference] Story in Words and Pictures. This booklet includes many photographs of King, as well as the photos of the March on Washington and a transcript of the "I Have a Dream Speech"

Strength to Love is the second book written by Martin Luther King, Jr. and it is a collection of his sermons. This first edition was published in 1963, the same year he organized the nonviolent protests in Birmingham Alabama, and organized the March on Washington where he gave his most famous "I Have A Dream" speech. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize the following year.
